I had problems. My website kept crashing. Then they terminated my account, when 3.95 didn't go through for a Paypal subscription because they had the wrong email address. I cancelled the subscription, and emailed them
to continue the subscription to the correct Paypal email address anyways since the price is cheap and may be helpful for a backup website address.
When I needed help, I noticed their tech support phone number was no longer available.
Frustrated, I went to whois.net, and found the phone # they stated as 343-422-2475, called it and found it to belong to a Jason Williams at a business in Phoenix called Dynamics. I live in Phoenix, so I thought that was a bit strange, since hosting-marketers is located in Venice, California.
The number was just a message line, with the message that I had contacted Jason Williams, and to leave a number. I wasn't sure at this point, if Jason worked for hosting-marketers.
Still frustrated at not being able to contact tech support, I kept searching.
I went on a website, hostreview.com, found them listed there at: http://www.hostreview.com/cgi-bin/search_hosts/show_company_info. Cgi? Id=10039 where the phone # 1-800-574-0902 was listed.
The phone number also was no good.
Went to another, http://www.prurgent.com-04-14/pressrelease10056.htm, where their phone number was listed as 454-662-4456. I called it. A man answered and I told him hosting-marketers.com was listing his number as belonging to them. Turns out he is also a businessman who works at Dynamics. I spoke to one of the men, who was completely unaware his number was being used. He was even more shocked when I told him the whois.net for hosting-marketers was listing a fellow workers at the same company. He asked me for the website address, and took it down.
However, the whois, as of today was changed for both their websites. They are now both listing Portugal addresses and phone numbers.
No valid tech support line is currently available at the time of this report.
I wouldn't trust a company that is this sneaky and bizarre. They also have the following addresses:
P.O. Box 2213, Venice, CA 90204.
1872 Churchill Blvd, Ste 481, Venice, CA 90204 (I believe false)
Another address not found to be true was Av DeLa Rue 659, LA, CA 90204.
Now it's listed to be in Portugal.
Possible working FAX numbers are 1-866-988-4286 and 1-966-988-42867.
The last number is not a mistake with the extra number. It comes up as maybe a fax line.
I found Paulo Santos; the owner of Hosting-Marketers and Cheapwebhostinghouse.com; phone number listed in the whitepages in Santa Clara and was able to contact someone who helped. He agreed to allow me to retrieve my database information. I am grateful for that, but why should I have had to go through all of that? He has a few employees that are good at customer service, that could have handled the problem promptly and courteously.
I could only describe the service as phantomly and erratic.
I think he should post a customer service phone line.
