If you are thinking of using Antamedia for a HotSpot software solution, you may want to read this. We purchased the software roughly two weeks ago after what appeared to be a successfull test of the one hour only trial version.

Trial is misleading though. Unless you pay for the premium version most options will be removed after you install the license key. This is really bad practice as it makes the software much more difficult to use. Essentially, they are attempting to annoy you into paying them more money. Features like NAT and gateway monitoring are removed. For example, if there is a problem with Antamedia software and it stops working, your gateway is wide open - people will use the hotspot without paying until you restart the service.

Also, you will need to pay extra for a credit card gateway and even more to use ssl (from them of course). If you are realistically considering costs and comparing to other hotspot software providers, you should double or triple what Antamedia quote you as these add ons should be included it they are required to make the software work.

Well, we weren't warned so we paid roughly double what we anticipated. However, we ran into problems right away with the credit card gateway. Their setup process is a bit muddled and obviously not thought through well, but we managed and double checked our work. Tried a test, got an error. Read though everything yet again, restarted the server, tried a test and no good.

Contacted Antamedia service and Got Vladimir, asked that we re-install software. We did, and setup all again which is a bit time consuming, tried again and no good. Ivan from support is helping us now, but we have still got nowhere.

Now, we are getting the same response over and over. Ivan and Vladimir from support keep copying text from the manual, pasting it to an email and asking us to do it all over again.

We've finally given up and have asked for our money back. And here is the response received today.

Upshot - they don't appear to care at all that their software is not working. We recommend anyone interested in this software to reconsider and look elsewhere.

They will be very difficult to sue as they have been carefull to omit any physical address or full name of anyone attached to the company.

Email received from Antamedia after asking for a refund:

Hello Daniel,

Software product is non refundable as described in license agreement.

You had a trial to test the software and all it's functions, and you have agreed to our licensing policy when you installed and bought it.

We provided you with registration for the software and we can't stop you from using it.

These are the reasons why we do not refund orders.
