LinkedIn is not doing criminal background checks on its members to be sure they have not been convicted of violent crimes.
This endangers the safety of the community.
LinkedIn member Brad Ingalls, aka Bradley Ingalls, a New York City Real Estate Agent, was arraigned in New York City Criminal Court on a felony assault charge and pleaded guilty to an assault charge.
The attack for which he was convicted left his live-in domestic partner of two years with a ruptured spleen. The victim reports being the victim of ever-worsening domestic violence in the two years preceding the spleen-rupturing attack.
You can bet that if LinkedIn's Chairman Reid Hoffman and its President Jeff Weiner knew that a social and/or professional networking site's doing criminal background checks on its members was going to keep one of their daughters from being a victim of domestic violence, they would want the site to do those criminal background checks.
