Watch out for 'PHP Paysite'.
I have a popular comic book that I wanted to sell digitally on my website, so I looked for some good paysite software to automate the process.
I settled on the most professional looking site - PHP Paysite, and ordered the software for $99.95. I received my login info, and access to the client download area where I could get the software. I activated my license, and everything seemed ready to go;
To my puzzlement, none of the download buttons linked to anything - there was no content to download. Well, no problem, right? I'll just talk to customer service, and get it taken care of.
I e-mailed them, several times, and never got any reply. After a few days, I chose to open up a Paypal dispute, since that's how I purchased. I sent them a message explaining my problem, and requesting either the software, or a refund. I was polite. They never replied in the Paypal dispute.
In fact, I never got any kind of contact from this seemingly lifeless shell of a website. It was just a black hole that my money dissappeared into.
I escalated the Paypal dispute to a claim after a week of no contact from PHP Paysite - but evidently I filled in the wrong blanks in Paypal, because Paypal instantly labeled my claim as closed.
Too bad for me - I'm out $100 bucks, with nothing to show for it. Don't make my mistake, and be sure to avoid the PHP Paysite scam website.
It looks professional, but all it does is eat your money. Don't fall for it.
