I opened an account with Etrade a couple of years ago. I have consistently had problems with their internet site saying "service not available". I had not received a statement in a while and when I finally received one I found they had been charging me a quarterly maintenance fee of $25. This was not in the original agreement and I was not notified of any changes.
When I tried to close the account the rep said I couldn't because I owed them money. Now they won't close my account and say they will continue to rack up charges for services I don't want.
This company is very difficult to deal with, if you can get their internet site to work or have the patience to wait 20 minutes on the phone to talk to a person.
