Internet Scam DVD Player Scott Christie E-Commerce / Dulux of, TX

Last October, a mass-marketing email was sent from a Houston, Texas-based E-Commerce, Inc aka Dulux Electronics, ran by a Mr. Scott Christie, its President.

Offered was a region-free DVD player, for $249, with numerous goodies including Sega games, etc.

I ordered one. After a month without receiving the product, I began to receive odd updates from him, claiming there was a slight delay, but if I wished to wait a little longer, he would credit those who waited with an extra $50.

Further weeks went by. My complaint at this point was met with claims that my package would be shipped overnight, the next day. However, it did not.

He even had the poor showing to claim then they would all be shipped in time for the Christmas Holidays... Again, not so.

The story would become more elaborate each time explaining the delay, all suspicious. As he'd indicated one could request a refund, I requested either the product or a refund, and afterwards, simply the refund. I received none.

My complaints to the attorney general of my home state and his local state of Texas resulted in a lack of them being able to follow-through due to his refusal to respond to their mail.

I've recently inquired with a private investigator who indicated the person in question has a lot of complaints.

As the units were "sold" for $249, it's just at a price where apparently people (especially those who are not nearby him) are discouraged from the expense and logistics of trying to individually prosecute him in local small claims court. And, his operation hasn't been shown to be extensive enough to raise quite enough complaints for the FBI, etc. To move in. The case as mine is considered a "dispute" - however, what's needed here is some group or person to be able to "connect the dots" and realize that so many individual "disputes" against the same man collectively add up to suggest something more insidious.
