In November, in order to get my business, a representative of I-Contact offered me a two month try-it account at a greatly reduced rate for the months of November and December. I was told that if I wanted to continue the service after December, I would need to contact them in January or log in and click on Upgrade account. It was my impression that the trial account would expire at the end of December so I agreed to try their service and gave them my credit card number. I used the service two or three times in November and December. At the end of December, I had knee surgery and was unable to work for most of January. At the end of January, I decided to retire, and I did retire in February. This morning, I discovered that I -Contact continued to charge my account in January, February and March without my permission. At no time did I contact them to extend the trial arrangement, nor did I upgrade the account on their website. Today (March 9) I called their customer service number and told them to cancel my account and refund the most recent charge (March 3rd). They said they cannot do that and that my account would be cancelled effective April 1st.in looking at the charges on my bank account, I can see that they were not actually giving me a reduced rate on the upgraded account we were talking about, nor was it a trial account that would expire at the end of December. What they did was sign me up for their less expensive account and continued charging me. I feel pretty stupid for falling for this scam. Steer clear of this company and their deceptive practices.
