I have had an almost identical bad experience with this company. I paid my $1.95 with my debit card to view some grants, and that was it, I thought. I'm always very careful about my online transactions, and I've never had anything like this happen before.
So I was more than surprized to find a debit of $58.61 plus an "international transaction fee" from "New Grant For You" (they have several aliases) about 12 days later. I called my bank, and they advised me to call their number for a reversal. When I finally got thru on their number, the operator was rude and argumentative.
He insisted that I agreed to this fee and that they had sent me an email confirmation and I must have logged onto the grant site at least once. None of this happened. I checked my internet history for the previous weeks, checked my spam, checked my trash, no emails or traffic to or from any of these sites. I never got any email confirming my payment. I don't remember any description of a subscription to a service unless cancellation was made in 7 days.
When an internet search turned up this usacomplaints.com site with all these similiar stories, I am now convinced that this GrantDanger site and their "$1.95" offer is an blatant scam. I should have known by the name, I guess. Danger!!!???
