SMK Internet Components does not stand by their products!!! I purchased about $500 of new computer components (motherboard, 1Ghz processor, 256 MB memory) in April. Since I have had their products, I have isolate a problem with the motherboard after I kept getting fatal errors with my system. I called them up and they told me that I could get the same motherboard, or a newer/better motherboard in the mail, and then send them the older motherboard less the 15% restocking fee. This way, I wouldn't have any down time since it would take about two weeks for them to check out the motherboard. Usually, companies charge a 15% restocking fee when you are making a return on an item that is still good but older than 30 days. But, my product is defective, but they still insisted on charging me the 15% restocking fee. I got over that and told them to send me a better motherboard. Then the service manager told me I would have to pull out my old motherboard, send it for service while they checked for problems, and then they might send me a new one within two to three weeks!!! This was after he acknoledged that there was probably a problem with the motherboard! I told him that I was going to buy a superior product and generate more revenue for them by doing so, and he still told me no way. This was after I spoke to multiple employees at SMK who told me that it would be no problem to first buy the new motherboard, then send them the old one back! I am outraged, and in addition to that, he put me on hold only to hang up on me!
