Listed an add in the Cleveland Plain Dealer to sell puppies ($475 ea.) and included my e-mail address in the add. Was contacted by e-mail by someone supposedly named Mary Cole informing me she was interested in buying a puppy and would send a check for the puppy plus shipping. I was supposed to cash the check immediately and forward the difference via western union to the shipper. Was contacted by phone using the hearing impaired relay service #866-394-4494. Played along and received $3000 written on a check from USA Notebook Inc. (memo on check said "instant cash") signed by a Robert Williams. The check was sent UPS from Seattle, WA by Robert Williams and the check is supposedly from Wachovia Bank, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Obviously this is a shipping scam. I believe USA Notebook Inc. Is a front for this scam. I am forwarding all the e-mails and the check to my local law enforcement and will also be filing a report with the Florida Attorney General's office.
