We listed an Item for sale on Craigs list in Rochester, Mn. A Mary Richard answered the ad and emailed us saying she wanted to buy the item. She said she would mail out a check within two days. Almost a week went buy no check, we contacted her again to see if she was mailing a check and how she would pick up the item. Mary Richard emailed back saying she was sending the check on Jan11 fed fedex. We did receive the check, in the amount of $2,500. Dollars. The item she was buying from us was only $400. Dollars. She asked us to cash the check and send the remainder amount of $1,100. Dollars to an address in Colorado. Of course we did not cash the check. We did call the bank the check was written on, they said the check was no good. We also turned all the information into the FTC, and they will investigate this scam.
