I got suckered in also, as reported to usacomplaints.com by many others. Suddenly, a $19.99 charge shows up on my bank statement. After over an hour on the phone (mostly on hold) and talking to two different people, I did get my account cancelled and an agreement to refund my $19.99. The last person I talked to, Kevin, was really quite understanding and responsive.
What makes this situation more upsetting, was that I was referred to Stamps.com when the USPS was having trouble with their online system in December. I've written to the USPS as a customer and taxpayer to ask them to stop making such referrals, at least until Stamps.com changes their marketing practices and improves their customer service wait times.
