I ordered some diecast cars to give as Christmas gifts. I called the company 2 weeks before Christmas to inquire about if cars were in stock and if expedited shipping was available for arrival before the holiday. The gentleman I spoke with was very nice and said yeah, sure. He instructed me on how to place the order on their website and told me at the end it would give me the option of express shipping and I would receive in plenty of time for Christmas.
A week later I still hadn't received the cars, so I called to check the status of my order. At that time the lady I talked to was somewhat rude and told me my credit card info did not come through so my order was in limbo. I gave her the info and she said "they'll ship in 48 hours" (which would have been a Friday). I told her I needed them sent as soon as possible as they were Christmas gifts. She acted like she could care less. I also asked why someone didn't notify me that my credit card info didn't come through, and she couldn't provide an answer.
I continued to wait for an e-mail notification that the cars had been shipped, and after 3 business days I called back. I was on hold for 25 minutes, and when I finally got a representative they pulled up the order and said "that particular car is discontinued so your credit card wasn't charged." Needless to say I was outraged. I asked her why I wasn't told the car was discontinued the first or second time I called in and her reply was "I can't answer that, all I can do is look at your order." I promptly told the lady these were Christmas gifts and now it was 3 days before Christmas and I was left empty handed, to which she was like "oh well I can't help you." Their prices might be low, but they sure as heck don't know how to provide any customer service. I say order elsewhere (such as Danbury Mint).
