Bogus Website Claiming To Be Free NERO Download
Nero Bogus Website BE AWARE This website claims to be NERO and offers a "free" download - NOT TRUE

My IT guy told me to download NERO for my CD/DVD player as it is a great program and easy to use. When I Googled "Nero Free Download" the very first entry looked good so I clicked on the link. The link took me to a page that had the NERO logo and everything on the page was cleverly designed to look like the real Nero website (if you had never been to their real website before, that is!). I clicked on the Download now and went through the instructions.

Turns out it's a download service at $38.91 for three years. Not knowing anything about Nero and how they operated, I downloaded it and when my tech guy showed up, he said the program definitely wasn't Nero and he uninstalled it. When I tried to contact their support line, all I got was a recorded message that I could leave a message for them to call back, but when it went through to the voicemail box, it was, of course, full. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company. The charge was billed by MBCONTACT.com.

The wierd thing is that yesterday I went online to check out something for my husband and followed the links... Guess what? It's the same website! Totally different things. So this guy is out there bringing in gazillions of dollars which hardly anyone ever talks about A) because they're embarrassed to admit they got scammed, or B) because it's always for a fairly small amount of money.

The unfortunate thing is that you get a product, of sorts. They also claim that you have a 7 day money back guarantee. Ha, Ha! Try and get hold of them of get it! I e-mailed them immediately and got a response that had nothing to do with my request of a refund.

This is totally a scam. You don't get the product they represented (fraudulently) and you definitely can't get your money back. It'll be interesting to see if they dispute my dispute with the credit card company.
