In May, I moved to another house and wanted to cancel aol membership. I called and advised of cancellation and was told that I would be put on suspension at no charge, then I could activate at a later date (three months.) I never hooked my computer up at the new house.
I didn't even get phone service to the house for the first month.in November I received a bill in the mail for nearly $140.00. When I called aol to inquire, I was told that I had actively been using my suspended account, therefore, I was charged accordingly. I told them of the lack of phone service and that I had not even plugged up my computer. I was told that someone had accessed my mail account because they had a legitimate record of the access.
I told them it wasn't me, and I was protesting the bill. They didn't care, and said the amount would be satisfied, or I would be turned over to a collections agency, which unfortunately, has happened. I am advising you all to seek internet service from anyone other than aol.
