On 1/14/03 i received a bill for $326.93 for a dial up internet company name of Alyon Technologies for an adult web site which I did not subscribed to nor have I ever being a customer of. The next day when I went to work for the New Haven Police Department as a civilian dispatcher assistant, I spoked to a co-worker name of detective piasyk who offered to give me a hand in solving this problem.
We contacted Alyon Technologies and spoked with a Natasha who is in customer service at tel 1-800-379-0239 extension-325. We explained that I have an 11yoa daughter who also has access to the computer and upon questioned her, she denied it.
We also asked as to how can the charge go through if a credit card is needed to enter such a website, she said that no credit card is needed, that the customer's phone number becomes like a credit card. I have a separate line which is tel number of 203 787-2911 which is the line they have billed.
We also asked as to how my name and personal address was obtained when in no way or form have I ever given my info out especially to a company that I did not subscribed to.
The company obtained such info thru the phone number of the so call client. When we told her that I was prepared to take such a matter to a higher authorities such as Consumer Protection, Attorney General and so forth and so on, the customer representative Natasha became sort of nervous and told us "oh, don't do that, all you have to do is send us the bill with letter of explanation and will take care of it"
To my surprise on 1/22/03 I received a 3 page letter from this (censored) bag of a company, giving me their written rules/regulations of their company and also requesting that I send a copy of my daughters birth certificate and her school information. Which I definitely will not be complying to such a request. I have spoked to someone in the department of Consumer protection and will contact as many departments as I can. I am going to follow this through until they are hold liable for this sort of (censored) that they are pulling off with peoples phone numbers.
