Rip-off dishonest fraudulent billing false advertising doesn't deliver product as promised

Network solutions is shown as owning cycle corp, which internic and american express show as owning brainfox.

My wife has a lingerie shop wanted me to find someone to create an Internet site to augment the shop. After the site (www.the-sensual-woman.com) was created I looked to find someway of advertising on the Internet. After seeing several adds from BrainFox.com I decided to give them a try as they advertised among other things that they were the "premier Pay Per Click search engine", banners that said "build traffic fast", "targeted traffic - fast results", etc. An example of their banners can be found at www.agreatstore.com/brainfox/. The also offered Pay Per Click for as little as 1/10 of a cent per click.

I've been signed up with them for 2 months.in all that time I didn't get any hits for my site except for 3 all of which I did myself when I tested the link from their search results to make sure the clickthrough was working. I was number 1 in bidding for all of my keywords one of which cost me 81 cents a click. I am also registered on 2 other Pay Per Click engines and I get so much traffic from them at 8 and 15 cents a click that I have to limit on a daily basis how much I spend with them for the same keywords. I have since changed the 81 cent bid to 21 cents which puts me on the 2nd page of their search results for lingerie.

On 1/15/03 I received the following in a newsletter from Brainfox.

- BrainFox is currently working with over 300 top notch
partners and search engines.in the upcoming weeks
most BrainFox clients will begin to see a huge increase in the quantity and quality of their traffic. Stay tuned!

What is really funny about their newsletter is that they don't mention that they have their website up for sale.

You can check the following site for the sale information - http://www.websitebroker.com/

I got to admit though that I did get a huge increase in traffic. It went from 0 to 4 in the last 10 days. I suspect however the hits came from them as I had just filed a dispute with my credit card company and they probably wanted to show that I was getting some "real" traffic. They also billed my credit card for another $100 which I didn't authorize or make. I just received a call from my bank over the dispute I filed. I sent them a lot of advertisements showing all the Brainfox promises for all the traffic I would receive but since Brainfox also has a discalimer that you agree to when you sign up so I was unable to get my money back except for the $100 for the charge I didn't make.

At the current rate of 4 hits every 10 days I might get the advertising they promised in about 15 to 20 years.

After not receiving any hits for almost 2 months I did some research on the Internet and found a lot of negative information about Brainfox that I hadn't found before I signed up with them. The information isn't hard to find, just do a search on Brainfox and spend a little time going through the results especially the ones from forums.

My advice is to stay away from this ripoff company. Not only do they not deliver on what they promise they try to steal money by making charges to your account that you didn't make. If I didn't have online access to my credit card account I would not have caught the charge in time and they would have gotten another $100 bucks from me.

I also made the mistake for siging up with Anytraffic.com which advertised on Brainfox for pay traffic. The following is a quote from their site:

"We provide only 1 service. This service is the delivery of quality, targeted web traffic to our clients' websites. To ensure the highest ROI, we channel and filter all our traffic into categories prior to sending it to our advertisers. Our high level of service and support has made AnyTraffic.com a leader in online Pay For Traffic services."

My account with them shows that they have delivered 10,364 quality visitors to my site. I can tell you that the quality isn't there nor is the number of clicks right. Our click counter shows 7539 visitors and over 1300 of them were already there before we signed up with Anytraffic.com. We also receive traffic from several other sources that we signed up with. I would challenge them to show the IP numbers of the visitors to our site as we also have a IP log from the company we run our web site through. We haven't received one order from their targeted 10,000 visitors that they claim they sent to my site. The prices on our website are the best on the net for the majority of the products we sell.

I got an email from Anytraffic saying that they had partnered with Brainfox. From what I can smell both compaines are probably owned by the same corporation.

Stay away from these 2 companies unless you like giving your money away.
