I bought "Sins of a Solar Empire" from Stardock as a Digital Download.
It was revealed to me after I paid that I had to install extra software ("Impulse") in order to download it.
I do not want to install extra software that is not required to run the game. I do not agree to its EULA, nor to the principle of springing this on me after I paid.
Stardock has refused to give me a full refund.
I bought through PayPal, and they will not help with refunds on virtual items, so no progress there.
Unlike the another negative report on this site about Stardock (#355767), I was not using profane language. I calmly and politely explained my situation multiple times, and they still refused a refund for what was really an honest misunderstanding. I would think that they would value customer goodwill, but it seems they are more interested in keeping my $40.
I have no recourse through Stardock, PayPal, nor my credit card company, so it's a rather annoying situation. I wish they had been helpful, but it does not sound like I'm the first one they have scammed.
