Auto Renew When Your Account Is Set To NO

This is the second time this has happened to me with Godaddy. I personally and with an account exec set all my domains to NOT AUTORENEW to a mastercard on file. Mainly because I don't keep a lot of money there, just enough to keep it open.

I go online today and see a $4.99 charge to my account and notice its for a domain that I planned to let expire. I go to my account and notice my autorenew is still set to NO but they charge me anyways.

I called and reamed them a new a-hole and they refunded my money immediately but since its a holiday weekend I have to wait a few days to see if they overdrafted my account again. Watch Godaddy and delete any credit cards you don't want them to touch because they will charge you in the hope you never even notice the email they send you.

This happened to be 6 months ago on another domain I swore was set to NOT RENEW and I was charged an overdraft fee on the same account by my bank. Now I know that it was them and I keep a quick eye on all my accounts with them.

Too bad for them I printed out my account info and it proves all my accounts are set to NOT RENEW. With this economy getting bad, don't trust ANY company right now. They will do anything they can to keep the revenue coming. Keep an eye on your bank accounts.
