I am a big customer of Nero products and wanted to upgrade from Nero 7 to Nero 8. However, because I had a trial version of the product, I was unable to uninstall all of the components.
So, I decided to contact Nero Technical Support for $1.29 per minute. However, per their website they will only charge when a representative anser the phone.
Please note while I was holding, I found the answer to my question and disconnected the call which by the way was only 6 minutes. I never spoke to a representative.
After I was able to install my version back on to my system and after thoroughly reading thru the upgrade process, I was going to purchase the upgrade for $49.99!! So being responsible, I went online and checked my bank balance and noticed Silicon Support Services charged me $71 for services they had not provided to me!
So, I immediately contacted my bank and we are still in the process to see if the pending charge will be processed. But I have to wait 2-3 business days!
This is a total RIPOFF! The website never said there would be a hold on the caller's account. I can use that $71 towards a lot of things! I regret ever calling them and want to warn everyone else out there to be very careful when calling a Technical Support Hotline. Oftentimes the answer for your question is in your face.
My complaint is not to harm Nero in anyway; but their Technical Support line which I'm sure is a 2nd or 3rd party firm; SILICON SUPPORT SERVICES!!
