I signed up to sell some DVD's at a very good price, $1.99. They were opened, but in excellent condition. I was contacted right away that someone wanted one of the DVD's. Unlike Ebay that will let you determine the shipping charges, Alibris tells you how to ship the product, not mentioning anything about pricing. I went to my local Mail Box store and purchased the shipping envelope and shipped the DVD as per their recommendations... Media Mail.
The total cost for shipping was $4.46. Several days later, after the customer acknowledged receipt, I was sent an email tellin me they had deducted $. 50 from the selling price, no problem, Ebay does the same thing. Their in business to make money. They then listed the amount I was to be reimbursed for shipping...$2.20.
I should have received a check from Alibris for $5.95 instead I received a check for $2.69... I lost money. It cost me to sell my DVD. On the statement attached to the check they showed an amount of $3.69, which was the $1.49 for the DVD and $2.20 for shipping. BUT, they deducted another $1.00 with no explanation.
In conversing with their customer support prior to the check I told them about the shipping costs, they said I should have told them before shipping the product what it would cost and they would go back to the customer and ask for more. WHAT!
These people obviously do not have their act together... Or do they?
