Like many others, searched the Internet for "the best price" for a textbook... Usually order from cheapestextbooks.com or Amazon.com... BUT 'this time' Alibris had that "price that none others could beat"... Not only that but I received a "coupon code" for $5 off. Yeppie! Right? You might think you're getting a good deal... And some people may.
However, here's my case: Ordered $111.99 book on July 12. Shipped "supposedly" July 12... Charged to credit card July 13."Supposedly" shipped via USPS (no tracking)... Delivery date by: July 27. July 27th came and gone... Book still not received. Contacted "seller"... Truth Books2, after two days, received an email from "Aaron" from [email protected]... Stating:
"We will process your refund. It should have arrived already and we didnt put tacking on it.
Thank you,
Aaron
Truth Books
(And yes - the email did have a grammar error, "didnt")...
So, thus far I've came in contact with 1. Alibris 2. TruthBooks2 and 3. Kituwahbooks... Which is it? Fully understand that Alibris is only a company that allows others to sell and purchase from various dealers/vendors. HOWEVER, when I look at my credit card statement and see Alibris has charged my credit card, THEY should be the company responsible for tracking, shipping, refunding, etc. Thankfully, I haven't paid the credit card statement yet, so I'll just challenge it with my credit card comapny as "non-receipt of item"...
SHAME on me for NOT looking into this company before purcashing. I'll stick with Amazon and Cheapesttextbooks.com in the future; may pay more but have ALWAYS received my textbooks in a timely manner.
Lesson learned: When something sounds too good to be true... Let it pass me by. Best of luck to others who order from this (these) companies.
