I was out of town on business so I decided to sign up for a one month subscription to MLB.com/MLB. Tv to be able to watch my home team play while I was on the road. On the bottom of the subscription signup page, there is a box that if you leave checked, it states that your account will automatically be renewed. I unchecked the box because I only needed the service for the month that I purchased.
When I was back home I checked my credit card activity as a do on a regular basis and I saw that a pending charge was taking place from MLB.com. I called the customer service line and the agent said that she was sorry for the mix up, would cancel the subscription and issue me a refund. I received an email from mlb.com stating that my refund has been denied and to call their customer service for an explanation as to why it was canceled.
So I call and I was polite to the operater who then started machine gunning me with a script as to why I will not be receiving my money back even though I did not sign up for automatic billing/renewal. She said that I have to cancel within 5 days from the purchase date to get a refund. I said I didn't sign up for their automatic billing. She said she wasn't there to argue so I ended the phone call.
I know have to go to my bank and file a Reg E form for unauthorized activity on my account in order to be credited back the money. I am a huge baseball fan and this has really angered me with the way MLB conducts business.
