Over priced for service you can only use a couple hours a day

I paid $649.00 for the modem, then they claim I have to give them my bank/credit card info because so they can draft the money or I can not have service. They offer a $100.00 dollar rebate you can collect after you receive your first bill and you only have so many days to claim it. Since they draft my account I have never received a bill, which I think should be illegal also. I called about the refund and told them that hughes will not send a bill and they tell me to call hughes. I call hughes they give me a non english speaking idiot that does not seem to understand what the hell I am talking about. I am a landlord and I am thinking of starting a policy that I will not rent to you if I can not debit your account every month. Wonder if I can get away with that? Hughes can, I should be able to then.

For 60 dollars a month I should be able to use my internet for more than 2 or 3 hrs a day. I have kids and I use internet. If my 6 yr old gets on noggin.com after about 1-2 hours of her playing a game we have no more internet, well we do but not enough to open a web page at 2-3 kbps. It took me a while to figure this out. I kept calling and calling tech support, no one could speak english or tell me what was going on.
Finally a rep told me you have violated a fair access policy. I asked what the hell is that. I found out I have 200 mb daily limit. I can upgrade to a business account. I said for what I have a business account at my office with Verizon Dsl and It is 34.99 a month and I do not have these problems there. I further went to explain that I use the internet at home for browsing and I have a teen that likes u tube and a 6 year old that likes noggin.com. Their answer is that if I can not pay more than stop letting the kids on the internet.

200 mb a day is not enough for any home user unless all they do is check email and search a little bit for topics, god forbid you download a little or play an internet game and you get a Windows update that is over 30 mb in mid update all the sudden you loose the download because you went over 200 mb.

Then there is the problem of waiting for 24 hrs. I would not be with this company if I had another choice for high speed. I think it is wrong that a company who knows there is no other choice for people in the boonies for high speed except them can charge these outragious amounts, It would not be so bad if my kid could watch her u-tube, my little one can play her noggin or sprout games and I can check the weather. 200 Mb is only about 2-3 hrs of internet, forget watching the little clips online from the news or another show.

We are being overcharged for a service that can not be used like all the other internet services. Paying for about 4 hours of internet a day. My friends all laugh at me at how stupid I am until I tell them my phone lines are not updated for DSL. Phone company says they will not upgrade because there are not enough people living in this area.

If their satellites and equipment can not handle its customers usage, shut down the damn company or upgrade the equipment.
I wonder to is it legal to offer service in the states and then give customers tech support with people who can not speak english?

How come no one else can run a business legally and rip off people without getting penalized? Oh wait a minute people do they get away with it.

I have seen that alot of other people are having this issue. Their customer base must be only people who hate their service but have no choice. I would not feel so great if I had that kind of a reputation (oh wait they are making a killing so they probably could care less, their tech support they hire for is prolly only a buck an hour or per day, no one can do anything about it really except for file complaints).

Sad part is I am going to have to file taxes online using my hughes.net, I am going to have to keep my computers shut down for 24 hrs. To make sure i do not get kicked offline, cause if I do during taxes, and I loose all my work cause it can not be saved. I am going to be very upset. Shame a service like your internet that ripps you off could cause a nervous breakdown because there is nothing I can do but keep letting them rip me off. I can understand why people go crazy and postal and do extreme things to others, there is no justice and not a whole lot of protection for consumers. All we can do is file complaint after complaint.

I think I deserve the service I pay for. I am not paying more for a service that is already ripping me off and will only add 30 minutes a day of extra internet time. Keeping my kids off the internet to me is not an option, all they do is play games and watch clips and videos
