Several months ago we paid 1.95 for a service on Ebay. We thought that was all we paid for but ever since then we have been charged 49.95 per month by the same company - Online Supplier. When I called Online Supplier the lady in customer service said that the initial purchase included a free 7 day trial of their online merchant service program. Apparently we had to call within 7 days to cancel it or they would assume that we wanted them to have complete access to our credit card to do with as they pleased. Unfortunately since we have been building a house for the past few months we have put more money through our credit card than we normally do and therefore we didn't notice it. I asked the customer service lady if we could get our money refunded - as we did not know that we had signed up for any monthly service - and we never actually used any of their services. She told me that unfortunately they could not do any refunding.
We are usually "read the fine print" kind of people. Don't know how we missed this one (or if there was even any fine print involved), but we are working with our credit card company to try to get the money back. Beware of this company. They offer a seemingly legitimate product in order to get your credit card and then they slam you. Their "out" is saying that they gave you a free trial with your purchase that you have to back out of (whether you know it or not) by a certain day or they'll start charging.
