Deceptive marketing and credit card "streaming" tactics

Around the exact time that we got a new BUSINESS credit card from ADVANTA we started getting a charge for $9.99 a month for a membership service called Great Fun. Upon further investigation, we were told that this was OK'ed by us from an on-line purchase made on Buy.com and was agreed to by us becuase we cashed in a $25 rebate from a purchase. We never knew about this link from Buy.com and would have never agreed to a non-existent membership program from a company like Great Fun. When I called the company (GF) I was told that they would only remove 4 months of charges to the card and that I had to write to or fax their Support Services Center in Ohio. I was only provided an address with PO Box and a fax number. Geee let's see. Do I think that this is completely bogus and does not exist. Ummm YUP!!!

Upon reading some of the comments on some Googled sites I see that many people even though they cancelled this program are still getting charges on their accounts.

I called our credit card company and cancelled this account and am being issued new cards with different account and authoriziation numbers. It seem that the only way to get rid of these sharks is to remove the card from circulation.
