InfoLink via ServerPronto is faking low prices to performing fraudulent business practices on it's customers Ft. Lauderdale Florida

My story goes back to May 31. Its when I signed up for the $29 dedicated server service they provide.

I knew about what kind of a service I would expect for such a low price, but I didn't care as I my focus was to use it for web development. I have my production servers hosted elsewhere.

On Sep an account was hijacked on my server and used to host phishing script. I was late to know about it as my Junk-Mail filter graped their abuse notifications, i knew about them later when they took-off my server.

I explained my case to their abuse team and I was able to get my server back online, Identify the phishing script and removed it along with the linked account. But one thing to worry about now, a $250 bill that was issued for violating their Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) that clearly states that they need to perform an investigation to identify if the serer owner was found involved in fraud activities (that they never issued this investigation).

As I tried to explain this to their Customer Service, I was repeatedly told that this bill is (Irreversible)! Wither its convenient or not, I found it not! So i issued a request of immediate termination of my account (as of today Sep 29, its a two months notice as I pay quarterly), they then asked me to:

Fill a form that must be completed in its entirety and sent along with a photocopy of a government issued photo identification, and a photocopy of the front and back of the credit card to which the final bill will be charged.

Am not a fool my self as I know that they can use whatever authorization method they used or information to create my account in order to cancel my account. I posted them back by telling them how I am unwilling to expose my self to identity theft by a company that's known with fraudulent business practice (as can be seen here http://www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Business/CompanyReportPage_Expository. Aspx? CompanyID=30003042)
I also asked them to use the method they originally used to create my account (which was a phone call).

Thank god that my credit card was expired that month so the $250 bill was not claimed, and I have two months of paid cancellation notice so i wont fall in their late cancellation trap as others mentioned here.
