Did not inform of the conditions of the broadband package, did not transfer our landline from BT and continued to charge for a terminated service ripoff Dublin

My housemates and I ordered a package of broadband/landline from BT Ireland after they launched a promotional package, and what they forgot to mention, was that the contract was binding for 6 months. First of all, they said (after the broadband was installed) that our landline could not be transferred from Eircom to BT, but that Eircom had to do it.

Eircom again said it was the responsibility of BT, so since we could not transfer the line, we had to continue to pay for the landline to Eircom AND pay for landline/broadband to BT.

We decided to terminate our agreement with BT, but they then charged ous 100 for terminating before the contract expired. Then, several months later, they started charging my account again for the service, and I didn't discover that the standing order was still there until they had charged me 300 altogether.

I contacted them and they sauid they'd refund it, but since nothing happened, I got back to them. They then said they did not have sufficient information of the account to do so, and since this was more than one year ago, all papers (always keep all our records!) had been thrown away. They said they could not do anything without the account no.

So I rang them, and after having yelled and been kept 30 min on hold (they always do that), they finally agreed to refund. Still, this shows they are unprofessional, do not give all the details about the packages they sell, happily overcharge and have veru bad customer handling. My advice; do NOT use BT Ireland!
