I recently found several recurring charges on my credit/debit card bill for the $14.95. When I called the company asking them to remove it they had all of my information including my name, address, phone number, and email address. They claimed I subscribed at a certain date (which I did not) and that they could immediately cancel my subscription and refund this last charge only.
I demanded that they remove the rest of the charges to which he only removed one more claiming that I did indeed sign up with them through a banner ad through Digital River.
I immediately called my bank back and am going through the process of claiming fraudulent charges being added to my account. The bank has been helpful so far but I intend to report this also to the Attorney General in my state as well. Reading these reports and seeing that this has happened to hundreds of others is a bit more helpful in proving there is something very wrong going on.
