Purchased merchandise on e-bay. Seller claimed beads purchased were of at least a "B" grade, but when I received items, they were of an extremely poor quality, and NOT of a "B"Grade. The per item cost was reasonable, until they added their per item shipping charge. The total for the merchandise was $31.05 and they charged me $50.94 shipping for a package that cost less than $4.00 to ship. I returned approximately 1/2 the order for a refund, because the beads were not of a good enough quality to make salable jewelry from. I returned the beads with a detailed listing along with my notice explaining that I wanted a refund of the merchandise cost AND the outrageous per item shipping charge, that was charged to me. I do not owe a shipping charge for an item that was not as stated in the description, and could not use. Gilbert and Frech sent a refund for $15.83, which was only the cost of the items. They also supplied a dispute form and informed me in an e-mail that I would have to return the original refund check along with the dispute form, in order to obtain a corrected refund. I submitted the items, and have been ignored since. Gilbert and Frech have not replaced the beads OR the refund, and they have ignored ALL e-mails sent to them. Ebay refuses to do more than provide any information for the purpose of legal action on my part. This company has made a practice of cheating its ebay clients, and because of the manner in which ebay handles their "feedback", it does not show.
I have been monitoring their feedback, since this problem began, and they consistantly cheat their customers in this manner. The one problem I have found besides the manner in which ebay lists the feedback, is that many customers won't give a negative feedback due to their fear of retaliation, and negative feedback on their accounts. This I can confirm too, because they gave me negative feedback, and their statements was simply -
"Please email me about the misleading negative feedback you posted earlier."
They claimed that my feedback was misleading, even though I stated exactly what they did, after trying for more than 45 days to get my money back. I also e-mailed them as they requested, several times, but all those e-mails went unanswered as well.
This company is padding their income by charging outrageous shipping fees, and when a customer is unsatisfied, they refuse to acknowledge them further.
