Liars, thieves, fraudulent charges to credit card for out of stock item ripoff

By far the worst I have ever been treated by any business. I always read the companies policies before I purchase with them. They have a policy of not charging your credit card until the item has shipped.

I ordered a 32" lcd tv on April 3rd of this month, my order qualified for free shipping but I wanted the tv faster so I paid an extra $35 or faster shipping. My credit card was checked as well as shipping address. Then my order was sent to the warehouse for fulfillment.
This is a 1 to 2 day min. Process before item ships. All the while you can check the "My Account" section of buy.com to check the status of your purchase.

I checked daily to see if tere was an update to my order. Friday the 6th came and went. I waited until Monday the 9th in the evening to call them. I was on hold on speaker phone for 3 hours before I spoke to someone. I was told that the order was still being processed and that I should check back the next day.

The next morning I got an email saying my order had shipped and it gave me a tacking # and the UPS tracking link to UPS website. I tracked it and it said it had no record of shipment. I figured I would just wait until Wed. The 11th to track it again. Wed came I tracked it every few hours until about 4 pm pacific time. UPS tracking still said it was an unknown order. I sent several emails to buy.com but decided to call. Another 2 hours to talk with someone, the look at my order and tell me that it was shipped out already. Then they told me it was shipped via Fedex.

Ok so now I am starting to get really mad. They sent me an email saying it was shipped via UPS. I tried the tracking # they gave me on fedex's site. Sure enough it showed up. It didnt ship fedex only received the shipping info. They tell me to just wait another day or two and if it still as not shipped to call them. I will leave out about half of what really happened because I do not feel like typing that much.

Anyhow on Friday morning I call them because the shipment still had not been picked up by fedex. Another 2 hours to talk with someone. I get a supervisor, she tells me she will check it out and call me back. I get a call that evening and she tells me that they are out of stock on the item I ordered and that she is going to cancel the order and my card will not be carged. Later that night I order a different lcd tv from a different website.

I am using a debit card for this purchase and the one with buy.com. I wake up the next morning and check my bank account and come to find out buy.com charged my card at 2 am pacific time that morning. About 8 hours after I got off the phone with buy.com and was told the item was canceled. So now they have $700 of mine that is gone from my account. They give me the run around and tell me I will get a refund in 3 to 5 business days. Meanwhile my account gets over drawn because of them charging my card.

Anyhow hours of calls and emails followed for the next few days. So I am looking at getting my money back around thursday the 19th or friday the 20th. Well I get home from work on Tuesday the 17th and find a big box on my front porch! Just when I thought these crooks could not get any worse, they shipped it after they told me it was out of stock and canceled the order.

Here we go again, 2 hours wait to talk with someone and they tell me that I cant return it and I cant cancel the order. I tell them that they messed up not me. Their repeated response was that it was their distributors fault and not theres, therefore I am responsible for paying the shipping back there and a restocking fee! Another couple of hours of talking to supervisors, managers, etc. I get so mad I cuss the lady out and hang uip. She calls me 30 mins later and apologizes to me and says that upon looking at the case closer that it was there fault. She then tells me that she will email me a UPS prepaid shipping label. I asked her when they are going to pick it up. She told me that I had to call UPS to have them pick it up.

Fine I get off the phone with her and call UPS, they tell me that the tracking number I provided did not include picking it up. They said they would have to charge me $10 or $15 to pick it up. I told her forget it and back again to a 2 hour wait to buy.com. Now the real kicker not only did buy.com fully mess my order up and charge my card after telling me my order is out of stock and canceling the order, they have the nerve to tell me that I have to haul that 60lb box down to a UPS store in order to ship it!

That right about when I lost it completely, I told her there was no way I was going to waste anymore time or money dealing with this. All of a sudden I realize that on top of everything else my refund is now going to be backed up almost 30 days not including the past week they have ahd my money. I filed a claim with my bank and Mastercard. I provided all the conflicting emails and misinformation that buy.com provided me and my bank already refunded me the money to my account. Buy.com has to deal with mastercard now.

It seems buy.com has a long history of charging people for merchandise that is out of stock and then talking up to 30 days or so to process the refund. I cant even imagine how much money those crooks make just off of that scam alone! These guys are real close to having me drive down to there offices and dumping this tv in their lobby! Beware of BUY.com complete fraudulent rip off artists!
