Net Zero ripoff Internet Service Difficult to Cancel/Keep Getting Billed

I tried to cancel my service in December. THey offered me 1 month free, saying that if my new service through Verizon didn't work some day I could still dial up and use the Internet.

I agreed to a free month. There was no mention of the fact that if I did not call again within 30 days to cancel again they'd take payments from my checking account.

I did receive free service in January. Then, in both February and March, $12.45 was deducted from my checking account. When I called to complain in April, I was told that I agreed to free service and that meant a new contract with automatic payments again when the free month was up.

When I complained taht no one had explained that to me, I was told that they sent me an email message. It went to my NetZero account, that I imagined was closed and so I never looked at it. They never asked me my new email address.

They refused to refund the $24.90 and the woman, Marquita, was rather rude on the phone. She refused to give me thta full name of her manager or the name of the CEO of the company. She gave me the following address when I said that I wanted to write a letter: PO Box 956 Woodland Hills Ca 91359. She spoke rapidly and mimbled so that I had to ask her to repeat it several times.
