Complaint / Review
House Values
Ripoff

I am yet another consumer who is suffering from what appears to be a scam involving salted data and unauthorized credit card charges being conducted by housevalues.

My story will turn out slightly differently than most. I followed the procedures outlines by housevalues to cancel credit card authorizations and spoke, e-mailed, faxed and snail mailed copies to this disreputable firm, whereupon I received acknowledgement of the cancelation by their representative. The snail mail was sent return receipt requested, so there will be no question as to them having not received the letter, which was accompanied by my bill and demand for payment for their failure to perform under the agreement as represented by their sale rep. The letter was sent to Ian Morris, the President and CEO of House values.

As expected, housevalues did carge my credit card, but the very first thing I did was to cancel my card and file a bank fraud report. The amount in question is now being investigated by the bank and I expect favorable resolution to this minor annoyance.

I am currently in the process of constructing a small claims action against housevalues in Contra Costa County, California, and have requested Mr. Morris to appear in person and bring all account data, emails and internal comminucations, along with all of the operational code which runs housevalues and any subsidiary thereof.

I expepect to find glitches and flaws in the system and fully expect to find areas which could exploited internally to create an enviornment which leads to consumer abuse.

Next, I will be filing complaints with the Washington Attorney General's office, the California Attorney General's office, the FTC, and if by some accident of fate, fraud can be found, with the FBI and the SEC. There will also be press releases about the filings as they happen.

I am REALLY interested in communicating with ANYONE who feels they have been defrauded by this company so that when HV ignores the small claims suit, it can be promoted into real court and perhaps be joined by additional plaintiffs.
