Billing - fraudulent ripoff business - victimized many consumers

After finally convincing AOL that I wished to cancel my account, 2 days later I received a call from a tele marketer offering my 2 free months.

I told him that I had already removed AOL from my computer and did not have a disc. He stated he would mail one to me and if I decided to reactivate my account he would give me 2 free months.

I never received the disc which was ok with me because I didn't want to get involved with AOL anymore.
A month went by and I thought it was over with AOL. Yesterday I recieved my Master Card bill and I had been charged for AOL services. This put me over my credit limit which cost me another $29.00.

After hold the phone for 40 minutes, trying to get through to AOL billing, I finally reached someone. They said that the account had been reactivated and I explained that I had not arthorized any billing to my account.

The lady said she would connect me to the cancellation department. I told her again that I wanted the charges credited to my account. She said OK and connected my to another long wait.

This time, while I was waiting, my phone went dead. After I let my phone recharge, I again tried to reach AOL cancellation dept and could not get anyone to help me.
I am still trying to get this matter taken care of, but fear that I am going to be spending a lot of my very busy time on the phone waiting for someone to talk to me.
