I recently noticed an odd charge on my Debit Card stated as the following:
Checkcard 0129 wli*shopperdiscount 800-889-8776 ct
It had a $10 charge so I went back to the previous month to see if it had charged then and apparently it did. I went back month by month to the very first transaction period which was July. There is a charge there on July 31st 2006 the very same:
Checkcard 0729 wli*shopperdiscount 800-889-8776 ct
So far, they have charged a total of $70, being $10 per month and 7 months having passed by.
I went to investigate what this Shopper's Discount thing was and I definitely never signed up for it. Most likely, it was some sort of virus or adware that logged my card information and delivered it to this website to create an account. I'm going to see what I can do with my bank. Watch out for these people. Keep an eye on your transactions.
