Ripoff Horrible company that steals your money and time

I was a student at Ottawa University in their Information Technology degree program, which requires some tech-related classes and the school uses Tech Skills in Brookfield to handle all of their classes in the computer-related area. I paid the school for the class and everything else is handled by Tech Skills... What a mistake I made by going there.

When I first visited Tech Skills the place seemed a bit "odd" to say the least, the people (including the employees) were all very snobby and acted as if their feces smelled of roses. At that time they gave me a very large book (I was taking the A certification) with a sheet for me to keep track of my own reading and studying and sent me on my way. Here I thought I'd actually get HELP and that they'd have group study sessions or something, no such luck. My "mentor" was of no use. I finished the course on my own and did the one practice test that they required and got my grade for the first A class. That is all I needed to take was that ONE practice test to get a grade, nothing else.

One thing I was told up front when I signed up is that I could take AS LONG AS I WANTED to complete the course, there was no forms signed (no fine print), I could flat out take a year or two if I wanted. They didn't like that..

When I had gone back to take that practice test I was no longer in their computer system, they had to "re-enter" me and of course that mentor I had was long gone and no one knew me there. They were rude and snobby about the whole ordeal.

When they gave me the second A course that I had to complete and already paid for (The Software part) I decided I really was fed up with this place and decided to take my jolly well time and wait until I was almost graduated to finish at that place. So a year goes by..

I visit their location and the place had moved apparently. I tried to get the new phone number from information but lo and behold they hadn't bothered to update their phone number with information (nor did they care about that fact when I finally found the place and scolded them). They were complete arrogant asshats yet again to me, this time even more so..

I explained to them I was ready to take the "practice" test so I can get my GRADE FROM OTTAWA and I was NOT taking the full paid exam (there is an extra $150 charge for the actual certification exam which I didn't want). The woman at the desk was completely snobby and grugingly entered my info and set my account on a "time limit" and said I have to finish everything by the end of the month or something, I of course told her that I had UNLIMITED time according to Ottawa. Then they bring me into a room so I can explain the whole situation to one of the managers and told him I just want to take the test and get my grade, nothing more. The guy then calls in the "big manager" who's this older guy with grey hair wearing a white shirt and looks down his nose at me and flat out says "She'll never pass" and walks out. What a rude asshat if I ever saw one, I guess i'm just another "dumb broad" in his eyes so the two managers talked and they said I have to pass some chapter exams first THEN I can take the practice test.

Fine, I take the chapter exams and pass them, no problem. I take the practice exam and got an ok score, enough to get a good grade at Ottawa. Take it up to the counter and they told me that was not acceptible, that I needed to score at least 95% or higher or some impossible number to achieve! I told them at least FIVE TIMES that NO I WAS NOT GOING FOR THE CERTIFICATION that I was only going for my grade at Ottawa and it didn't matter! They DID NOT listen to a damn word I said.

I spent the next few hours up until they CLOSED re-taking the exam OVER and OVER again.in the meanwhile the weather getting worse and worse (snow storm hit) and I just wanted to get out of there. Just before they closed (they had already started shutting lights off) I passed the test at 98% or so, took it up to the desk and the dumbass lady says "Ok, now you are allowed to take the final certification exam".. I told her I wasn't GOING to take it and she said that "OH, well we could have just accepted your first test then, you didn't need to sit here for hours re-doing it"... Well FREAKING DUH, how many times did I tell these bumbling idiots that I didn't and not once did they listen to me, look up at me or give a crap about me. To them I was another "lowly student" who wasn't worth talking to.

DO NOT believe all the hype about this place, they are greedy liars who just want money and don't listen to ANYTHING you say (even when repeated many times). This place should NOT be in business period. I wish they'd stop adveristing on the radio and giving people false promises.
