I did what others did—and that is get the 9.95 "Free" package. I did NOT activate the account at all due to some horrific family issues that raised their ugly heads soon after receiving the package. Two months have gone by and I get a letter in the mail about owing 140 bucks (2 x 69.99). They could not process the payments (lucky me) because it was on a debit card that was stolen and hence, turned off. So I sort of have them in a pickle. But they have me in one too.
I attempted to call them today. Was immediately answered by a nice young man, who upon hearing the word "cancel" rudely interrupted me and switched me to "cancellations". The phone rang for 2 minutes before a recording told me to hold on. Went back to ringing for FIVE minutes. Another recording telling me to hold on, but go online for faster service to www.discontinue. Ispeedway.com which of course I did. Got set up with an on-line chat with a rep WHILE I'M STILL ON THE PHONE AND IT'S RINGING! I explain situation, says she'll be glad to help. Blah blah blah. Form responses of attempting to keep me on with free offers. Declined them all. She then says I am out of the 30 day expiration, and I would need to call another 888 number to cancel. Fine.
I did. They answered right away. The minute they heard "cancel" I was again rudely interrupted and transferred right back to the same non-stop ringing line.
I am going to send a form letter and ask them to cease and disist. HOWEVER, what really rankles me more than anything is this. These rat bastards advertised on my favorite radio station—KFI-640 more STIMULATING talk radio in Los Angeles... I know it's not THEIR responsibility per se, but KFI should know about this so they can not take anymore of their ads. I think it's crap that KFI's good name gets smeared by advertising for OBVIOUS scam companies like this one.
