Back in December I started paying my bill over the phone with a debit card. They would always tell they would credit my account that same day. But for every month until April they would always charge the standard late fee of $29.00. Not to bad because they would take it off when I called in about it.
In April, they took two payments from me. When I called wanting a refund because that was money that was suppose to go to other bills. Well it took about 4 days to get the right person to tell me I had to fax them copies of the bank statement and a letter stating I wanted a refund. I did this and called back for confirmation that they received the papers and was told that "YES" indeed that had been received and a refund would be sent in 7-10 business days. Great!
Not! May 1st I called the same person to see what the hold up was with the refund. I was told that they never received my papers and that i would need to resend them for a refund. At that time I requested that they just take the overpayment that was equivalent to two months payments and apply them to May and June. Not so easy. I had to once again send a fax with this request to someone that handles the money. I asked for their number and was told that they ONLY have a fax number, that's how they communicate with them. I send the fax 3 times. You know what happened don't you. NOTHING!!!
I plan on paying this off in full in September and also buying another laptop. Because of this will not buy from Gateway and I will be sure to tell my story to anyone that is planning to buy a computer!
