It has probably been well documented but we wish to add our experience with a short subscription to AOL. When we tried to discontinue our subscription we were routed to an operator in Asia who simply would NOT process our request. Upon calling our credit card company, they told us we could not discontinue either! And we had to try to work with AOL. However, a few days later we did receive a note from VISA telling us they had refunded our last month's fee and they have not rebilled us.
Adding to this offence, AOL CALLS US EVERY DAY. We cannot discontinue their calls. We finally learned to recognize the voice on their recorded message and we hang up as soon as we hear it.
If you have access to ANY other internet service provider, we suggest you patronize them rather than AOL.
