Hello, great site to explain problems and ripoofs, well here is my case, quite long but I had to tell someone.
Tekla is a company dedicated to software for metal structures, I have an engineering company, quite small and normally we would not be capable of purchassing this type of software,
Well the case is that arround a year ago we went to a Government auction here in Chile, in the lots they had up for auction we found 4 packs of their software Xsteel 8, they are complete and sealled, it included all necesary to deploy in our computers, we had the original CD Media, and all the hardware locks and boxes, including a 3 1/2 disk containing a key file,
Well we purchassed the 4 units at a very good price, the products ware seized by local authorities as they ware sent underinvoiced at a very low price, and for that reason they are evading all taxes and duties here, if you consider that this software runs for over $25,000 each, that is a lot of duties and taxes to pay,
Well the thing is that we purchased the software legally to Chilean government, when they sell products like this they transfer you all the rights of the products, well here is the problem now, we closed our opperations for a quite long time, some months ago we started again, and when we went to install the software we find that the 3 1/2 disks are missing,
Well we started to contact tekla to have a new one mailed or the key text file emailed to us to be able to start up the software again, the answer was a simple NO, if I want the file I have to pay the full retail price of aech one (it is an old version now) and the price would be of the newest version,
Well had some conversations with a guy from Brazil that never had a solution other than buying the full units again, even knowing that I have a totally legal, and original product, I even have the original hardware locks for each product, if I was in the U.S.A. I would take them to court,
I can not belive they wont let me use something that is original, and legal and as I am here in Chile they know it is difficult for me to do something from here, whenever I sent an email to different offices arround the world explaining the problem, and sending pictures of the actual products, packing and hardware keys, they simply do not reply to the mails, and if I email them asking for prices they will answer the same day, they are just evading my complaints.
If anyone knows people from that company or has a way of letting them know about this complait I would appreciate it, I am sure that CEO and directors do not know about this problem and I would like to have a reasonable solution from them.
If any Lawyer in the USA can help please let me know, I need to work with this software, actually I could simply get a cracked version of the same software and install it, an have the originals as a certificate of authentic software,
Here in Chile most of the software used is pirate, I have all originals, and like to have originals as I respect the intelectual property, that is why I want to have the key file to my legitimate software.
People of Tekla, hope you act well and give me a real solution, I feel ripped-off, it is like the case you have a Ferrari and lost your key, and you have to buy a new car if you lost the key, sound ridiculous? Well is the same in this case, I have all original, media and locks, only lost 3 lines of text that will activate the software.
