I received a CD-ROM in the mail from PeoplePC. I attempted to set up an account with PeoplePC on a friend's laptop computer. The PeoplePC CD-ROM gave an error message x10 that it was unable to connect to the PeoplePC servers. The modem dialed and the server and modem communicated but were unable to make a connection. The error message stated to "Call Technical Support" if encountering a problem.
After waiting for 20 minutes on hold, a technical support person, unable to speak clear english, attempted to tell me that I have to first have an account before I can get technical support. Even after explaining to him that my problem was that I could not get online to set up an account, he still refused to help me or let me speak to a supervisor. I spoke to Technical Support, the Sales Deptment and Customer Service and no one was able or willing to help me.
If PeoplePC can not support their own software, I shudder to think what would happen AFTER I set up an account.
P.S. PeoplePC charges customers by the minute for technical support.
Do not use peoplepc!!!
