I won an eBay auction from Scott Vardeman. He had represented this '65 Mustang convertible as a rust free, and needs nothing. He had said this car was as sweet as they come, in #2 condition. He had represented himself as a restorer of classic cars.
This car was NOT even close to as described. The frame rails were rusted, the engine apron was rusted through, no brake lights, no tail lights, no rear running lights. There was a hole in the supposedly new top, and the front bumper was welded (crookedly) instead of bolted on because it was to rusted out in the area where you bolt them. There was tons more wrong with this vehicle, just too numerous to list.
He agreed (in writing) to refund my deposit. Its now been 7 months, and he just tells me to "lawyer up", and has said even when I get the judgement, I won't get a nickel from him. He has changed the name of his company, and thinks that will protect him. It was Vardeman Motor Company, and now the phone is registered to Cars Inc. They answer the phone Classic Cars, so it's hard to tell under what name he is operating. He has since sold this car AGAIN. He has been paid twice for the same car.in my opinion, this gut is the biggest shyster in the Metro houston area. I will add the new phone # to the business soon, as I do not have it now.
