Complaint / Review
Megaupload - Tina Smith
Translate their website into Arabic and once its up and running never heard from them. It's a ripoff. Other

I am a freelance translator registered with translatorsbase.com I have replied to an advertisment via the above mentioned translation agency to Ms. Tina smith head of Sales Department at the Megaupload Ltd, to translate their website into Arabic Language;on the 04/09. She sent me an e-mail thanking me for getting back to her regarding the translation proposal, laying out her terms and conditions of the project; i. E the project is initially a 6.400 word, and paying USD 5 cents per word, deadline, payment will be by PayPal or wire transfer after the project has been completed successfully, and its not their policy to do any prepayments.

I have accepted all these terms and went ahead with translation, not to forget that in two days later she added more words to the project totalling the word count to 9.006 words, nonetheless I delivered the project and e-mailed Ms. T Smith, informing her that I have completed and e-mailed the project, her reply was:

"Dear Nabil,
Your translation is now LIVE for a one week test on Megaupload.com

Please use this opportunity to look for mistakes yourself and if you find some, please inform us by email.

We are looking forward to work with you in the future.
Greetings,
Tina
Megaupload HQ.

I have carefully checked the site, no mistakes were found but they made few changes without informimg me. On the 14 November I have e-mailed her my invoice saying that she can pay it via my PayPal account as per her e-mail dated 04 september, but heard nothing since.

At the same time, I have e-mailed my invoice in MS Office Publisher Format to the account and translation department and they e-mailed me saying that they did not know what kind of format I sent my invoice in and they could not open it, so I re-emailed it in MS word hoping that they will come back with a positive reply, but that was in vain too.

On the 07 December I have e-mail both departments (account and translation) a reminder of my invoice, informing them that if I do not hear from either departments, I have no choice but to take legal action against their company.
