I am a Paint contractor, last summer i painted a house in indianapolis. It was an apartment house and one of the tenants said he designs websites and is a webhost. He claimed he would give me a good deal on a website.
At first i wasnt interested but he was persistant, so after much coaxing i finally agreed. He charged me $200 for the site plus $25 for the domain name. He made the site witch looked good to me and i accepeted it.
After that he instructed me how to bring up the link to the site and get the thing fowared to my email adress when potential costumers saw it and wanted to email me. It never worked then and does not to this day a year later.
I complained over and over, he says he fixed it but it still dont work, Ive had people try to send me emails with no luck.
I wanted the link changed so it would work but he thinks i dont understand why it wont work and tells me its working fine. Well if it works fine then why cant i recieve emails from the link.
Over the past year i emailed him telling him of this problem at least a dozen times. I called him as many times as well. He either does not take me serious or wont answer his phone, and when he does answer back its the run around syndrome.
Ive spent money on teckies from hotmail, microsoft, yahoo. They all tell me its the webhost needs to change the link then it should work. I relayed that to him and he says they are stupid and he tells them all the time how to fix things.
So i said if you are so smart then why dont you fix my site, needless to say he didnt have a reply for that.
Now its a year later when my site is up to be renewed. A month agao he tells me how much it will cost to keep it but then he got mad at me when i said it still dont work and tried to get me to say i didnt want it anymore so he would not have to deal with the problem.
Over the past month i have tried to call him with no answer, ive emailed him several times with no reply back. He must think if he does nothing i will give up and let the site run out so he wont be oblagated to me any more.
I called the Attourney Generals office and the reply i got was it sounds like fraud and should be persued with leagel action. So now im mad enough to do just that but i have a business to run with little time or money to go ahead with it.
Ive lost time and money not to mention the loss of revenu from potential clients all because this guy wont fix the site after repeted attempts to get him to do so.
I feel like ive been ripped off, belittled and scamed by a smooth talking con artist who has no intention of doing what he says he can do. This man has no ethics or morals to say the least. Its my opinion he should be held accountable for a criminal act, wheather i have a case is yet to be determined.
I am totaly discusted with this entire year of frustration and hope something can be done about it.
