We have been fighting a type of virus called a MalWare Malicious Dialer. It has something called a 'Magic Controller' which fights against personal firewalls and virus protection programs. We have vulgar and explicit pornography ads popping up on our computer every few minutes so one day I clicked on it hoping to get some sort of information to where I contact the creator or company because I run a daycare and that's not a very day care thing.
At the end of their 'Terms and Agreements' statement was the company name "Instant Access Inc." within a few weeks I received a bill from One Call Communications Inc. For two minutes of on line long distance useage. The time matched the time of when I was trying to get info on this abnoxious porn pop up. So, thinking this was an unrelated company only in charge of billing, I paid the two minute charge.
A few months later, I was online registering for college. AGAIN, the porno pop ups were coming every few minutes making it almost impossible to register. I got so frustrated I actually broke my phone jack! A week later, I got another bill for two minutes of online long distance with the date and time matching when I was registering for classes. However, this time I had clicked on nothing and done nothing but close the pop ups. That is when I decided to research the companies.
I purchased a spyware protection and detection program and it found a Malware program that was described as a "Malicious Dialer" and in the name of this was 'instant access'.
So, I believe that somehow this rip off from Navicomm and One Call could be related to pop ups, maybe just porno pop ups but possibly other forms.
