For some time, I remember being an AOL consumer on and off. But I never forget that sometime in Feb I joined AOL because I needed the dial-up service at work.
But since they were so slow and I kept shooting down pop-up ads more than I could function with the internet... I cancelled my membership in May via the phone AND fax. Yet they charged me the next month. I called AOL to ensure if my membership was cancelled before the next billing period and they said I never called!?!?!
In the back of my mind... Prior to 2001 where my memory of cancelling AOL wasn't a pleasant experience and I do remember they kept charging me for 3 months in the past until I had to close my bank account.
So late in June I closed my account and opened a new one. Then I got a letter in the mail stating that I owe AOL $95.60?!?!
Then on Aug 10; I got a letter from AOL stating that I agreed to continue my AOL membership and will be billed $23.90/mo. WHAT THE?!?!?
How can they IGNORE my request? I am boycotting AOL for as long as I live!
