On February 14th I noticed an unauthorized charge on my Mastercard for $9.95 for MyPerfectCredit.com. When I called the company and finally got through, they told me they would check into it and have someone contact me, which never happened. Of course, in the meantime I contacted my credit card company to alert them of the fraudulent charge. Also, because I realized that whoever did this might just have my SS number, I put a fraud alert on the three credit reporting bureaus.
Although they did credit back to my charge card the $9.95, over this past weekend someone called to tell me that someone was trying to get a Mobil credit card in my name. I have since requested a credit report from the three bureaus and now wait to see if in fact I am a victim of Identity Theft. What is really odd is a co-worker had this same company do the same thing to him except that it went through his ATM check card through B of A.
