Sent in a bona fide rebate for $10 to Linkworld on a computer case purchase I had made at Fry's Electronics in Irving, Texas November 6. I followed up with this company in February after never getting any check or correspondence from them. They e mailed me and told me the claim was denied and that I could not refile even though it was clear that they had either damaged or ripped up the receipt using that as the basis of denial.
I contacted Fry's both locally and at corporate headquarters as I have nearly $300 in rebates due on products purchased at Frys, most of which have some sort of problem, delay or glitch strangely enough. I am not too sure that it is all not a scam, deceptive trade practice, perpetrated by Fry's management to boost or induce sales. I am filing a deceptive trade practices act violation with the Texas Attorney General as well as filing a small claim court suit against Fry's for recovery of the rebates not paid by their vendors, likely subsidiaries of Fry's.
Hopefully the media will find an interest and escalate the issue.
