I looked online at my banking transactions and found a charge for $6.95 to 'WPI ifriends'. I'm on a fixed income because of a disability and keep close track of all transactions.
After seeing this I searched 'WPI ifriends' and found THIS 'rip off' site and a few others complaining of the same charge. There was a '1-800' number (which was a gift) and called immediately.
I was asked what the deal was and she asked if I knew of 'ifriends'. Of course I did and I just took a quick look last year and did the "$1" credit card for age verification. NOTHING MORE! I haven't even checked out the site since.
She said I signed up for the VIP membership that starts charging after an initial 30-day free trial. I never did and it didn't make sense to start charging~NOT after 30 days BUT one year!
I was done this way by AOL which charged me 4 months after cancelling AND deleting the ISP. I FINALLY got my money back after 30 or so phone calls threatening a lawsuit! Only spoke with people with foreign accents who probably didn't give a SH*T! FINALLY a guy with no accent got me my money back.
Just watch out for unauthorized charges!
