This is the same story as everyone else. I received a bill for 75 minutes of connection time to the UK for $375, plus a bill that will be appearing on my next statement from the phone company for an additional $1.99 a minute. Our PC was NOT even logged on during the times that this supposedly took place. Also, the same story on the buzzy phone or cut off when I finally got through.
Here are several things that I did do to start leaving a paper trail with my rage over this companies pracitices.
1. I filed a complaint with my state Attornies General Office. I did call them and was told that this is becoming a real issue. I encourge you to do the same.
2. I called my phone company and had an 'international call blocker' put on my phone lines to prevent this happening in the future.
3. I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau on line.
4. I took the envelope and all its' contents to my local Post Master so that they would have a record of it and to start any type of investigation from their point of view. The envelope does have a postage meter used, which would make this a case of mail fraud as well.
5. And I am now filing this report here.
I will of course contest the bill with my phone company, and by no means will I ever pay the bill sent me.
